Long weekend away did it

avatar-icon
Just had an awesome weekend kayaking lake Taupo with friends, no internet, no smokes, great. 14 days so far.
Great to see new people signing up and also all the encouragement.
Some difficult moments, but they are just that - moments.

Hope everyone is doing ok out there, keep it up and well done.

my next goal is a month smoke free.... ODAAT.

how awesome is this site

avatar-icon
Wow, I am on day 8 without smokes and yes at times it is hard. Did the groceries tonight and I usually have a smoke while putting them into the car... instant habit reaction. But I had a laugh and told myself I dont smoke.

Thats the first occurance of that event (shopping), odd how events are associated with smoking. Tonight I see new quitters, familiar names and the positive nature of the comments and support I see is just awesome.

I take heart from your honesty, comments, and I know I am not alone in slaying this nicodemon. Thanks everyone, stay strong, WE CAN DO IT.

patches and rashes

avatar-icon
Hope everyone is doing ok for stoptober! Nearly a week for those of us that started 01 Oct, well done guys.
I am finding that where the patch has been it is a big red dot for at least 5 days after it has been removed. I only wear them during the day and take it off at night.
wondering if i should go to the smaller one...otherwise i will be looking like patch work quilt soon...anyone got any advice? They are working so i want to keep using them...thinking about going to the chemist

Day 1 done

avatar-icon
The first day was ok, made easier by patches and gum. It was not the need for a smoke but the habit that was hard. First thing in the morning and at smoko, lunch and especially after dinner.

did it, saved $23 today... purchased a big wed ticket instead. Tomorrow a new day and challenge, looking forward to it.

I hope everyone out there managed the day and remain upbeat and steadfast, keep it up guys. The posts on this site are really positive and I take heart in reading of your success, it does help!
