Updating My 2nd Breathday

avatar-icon

Kia ora Quit whanau,
Arohamai...long time no visit. Happy Valentines Day for yesterday. A special day for me cos on that day 2 yrs ago .. I quit smoking. I’m still hearty as. Wasn’t always a smooth run. But with constant contact with this group and others. It eventually got better and the more I talked and listened the faster I healed myself from my nicotine addiction. My friends reminded me tonight that it was my 2 yrs anniversary. And my first thought, was this roopu that had done so much for me. Sorry I ain’t been here to tautoko. My last post was after we lost our mum in June last year. Then we lost our dad not long after in August. In my weaker days I would of smoked like a chimney thru those times. But the advice and tips the obiwans in here gave, made me stronger. Stay positive people. Pump those positive vibes ODAT...NOPE

Kia ora Quit whanau

Good to see the Force is still strong ;-)
The Obiwans are still around supporting and offering their awesome advice.
I couldn't of got here without their help.
Doesn't mean a newbie can't offer good advice, we've all got different experiences that others might connect to.
My tip is to stay focused on living life not focusing on the nicodemon. I'm still pumping those positive happy vibes around my friends and whanau who still smoke. Now they're really starting to listen because it's getting too expensive.
My mum lost her battle with cancer on the 8th of June. I'm still hurting but some of the last words from her was, I'm proud of you bub set a good example for our babies and try and get your sisters to give up. When they are ready, I will be there for them...ODAAT

Whanau is everything. Which is why I'm back. Here to guide a niece that's asked for advice on how to quit. Click on my name bub and you'll be able to see all my blogs. Same with all newbees, if somebody is speaking your lingo, you recognize similarities in your life. Have a jack nohi at their previous blogs. There's knowledge in their experiences.
Postive vibes to you all. (((((💗)))))

13 days from 1st Breathday

avatar-icon

My first 7 days on the smokefree waka were spent in the hospital. I was too sick to have any cravings in there. But I knew as soon as I got home, back in my (smoking environment) things would get hard. So I prepared myself for that moment. I thought up counter scenario's to all those habitual times I would smoke. eg after a kai, while having a coffee, driving in my car, around other smokers and while socializing. The blogs kept me sane during my 2nd week. I was feeling like so many others and the long timers (experienced ones) in here, help guide me through the rough patches.
Each day, each week , each month I celebrated my smoke freedom.
And I'm 13 days away from celebrating my first smokefree year. First BREATHDAY as it's known around here.
Kia kaha to those on this journey
If you have a hiccup don't despair....just jump back on the waka.
Positive vibes to all ((((💗))))

Cool 3 weeks away from my first breathday. I gave up last Valentines.
So my tarling better pull out the guns this Valentines...bahahaha
Welcome to those who have recently jumped on the smokefree waka.
And hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii to all the long timers that frequent these pages to awhi everyone xx. Been busy looking after whanau, parents and my sistas 4 kids. And not smoking has given me more energy and I'm able to do things without getting all breathless like I use to do. My karanga (maori call) is stronger now and same to my singing, which is noticeable amongst my iwi. I am seeing and reaping the benefits of not smoking...and I love it. YOU WILL TOO.
Postive vibes to you all. (((((💗)))))

Yesssssssssss 65 to my first Breathday ...

Kia ora Quit whanau
Hope everyone is well or doing better in their quit.
Kia kaha koutou.
Keep your guard up especially with the festive season
looming. Focus on the positive vibes of the holiday season.
Being around whanau & friends enjoying the company, the food and just relax. Relax but keep a strong mind, strong focus on staying smokefree.
For me during social events it was carrying a bottle of water and chewing on sugarfree gum. I'm over the gum now. Still carry a bottle of water most days. But I can now have a once in a blue moon drink for special occassions...and not want to smoke. ODATT
Positive vibes to you all (((((💗)))))

Friends jumping on our waka

avatar-icon

Kia ora Quit whanau
I got some good news yesterday when one of my friends dropped in. She had been scarce from our social circle for a month...because she had quietly quit smoking, away from everyone. One month smokefree..cold turkey.
Yeeeyah another one of my friends on our smoke fee waka.
We all socialize regularly because we're all dart players.
And from 98% of our crowd being smokers that number has dropped to 50%, 7 quits, 2 vapes and 8 smokers left.
I've kept a positive vibe for 272 days during all our social gatherings and it has rubbed off.
Surround yourself with positive supporting people and your quit will be easier..whether its your friends, whanau or even the people on here.

p.s Me and my friend who is one month smokefree are going to the movies tomorrow to reward ourselves with 2 movies, A star is born & Bohemian Rhapsody 😂
