wow

wow 608 days being a non smoker So proud.
For everyone at the beginning of your non smoking journey you can do it, stay strong and continually remind yourself why you gave up and that a smoke wont make one bit of difference to what is happening in our life.

ACC wheels move so slow and I still HATE that 18 year olds can make choices about important things like long term health when they do not have the maturity to make informed choices.
Frustrated so much but still not smoking. MMM have visualize a couple time buying a packet of smokes at supermarket and I am so pleased that they are now not on display or my have lost the battle.
Thank you for kind words and motivation from past blogs people. Much needed and appreciated xxxx

Stress relief

avatar-icon
Old habits to relieve stress trying hard to push back in.
Son discharged from hospital last night but should of be going to Isis rehab for brain injury but apparently 18 yr olds have the right to decide whether they should go.
So new stress- head strong / 'll do what i want boy at home who is forgetting things and fatigued easily is now off with his mates.
Head injuries are a long term healing process and if he doesn't rest and listen to his body his brain will take longer to heal or maybe even have long term effects.
I am struggling with the ideas of the worst case scenarios and finding it hard to think of positives of him being at home instead of rehab.
Been for a 20 k bike ride this morning that helped the carvings and took mind off things for a while. Taken a couple of days off work to sort thing out at home for him but he not complying and time on my hands Maybe off to beach for walk this arvo.
I will not give it smoking will not relieve the stress and make son better.
Writing this down helping a bit

Thanks for support

avatar-icon
Another day. Smoke free. Nath had good day it tired tonight but took his dog into see him and was able to go to dog park for a bit of fresh air. Both dog and son happy about that and McDs to take back to hospital. No wondering tonight I hope nurses are keeping closer eye on him too.
Had a couple of outburst swearing at people in other cars going past like a bit of road rage but they weren't specifically doing anything wrong that I could see. He was sitting in back seat with dog and the road was narrow so they may have looked closer. He wasn't sure either after. Reading up on head injuries this is normal stuff as get annoyed easy.
Thank you for the kind words of support. They mean quite a lot. Cheers

stresssssssssssssssssssss

Wow haven't been here for a while but tonight I am fighting the big urge to get in the car and buy packet of smoke.
Parents worse nightmare as one of my sons in car accident Friday night. Fractured skull he up and walking and all that stuff but confused and forgetful etc.
Tonight I went into see him and no one could find him. Two hours later he arrives back in the ward soaking wet from the rain, couldn't remember where he been and agitated.
Worried mum equals a default setting of what to do when stressed- sit in back porch and have a smoke.
Fighting this carve logical side of brain just winning in no more and it keeps saying a smoke wont fix any of this and it wont but frik

Another first ticked off

avatar-icon
Just back from holidays on westcoast with dearest friend. Always a smoke buddy and we have shared many wonderful and not so wonderful things through our friendship. So was slightly nervous about our get together wine and bacardi drinks. I was so surprised didn't even crave it though did talk about it a bit (lol)
2 days to go and 100 days smoke free. Amazing.
Still can't run but now can bike ride. I have discovered that kgs are a friendly bunch and love my body since I have given up smoking but I hope bike riding can help with unfriending them as I am not that fond of the BIG buggers. MMM no more winzzzzs too.
Have a great day everyone. Loving our amazing summer down in Otago.
