Kia ora koutou

Back home and past a couple of milestones.

Firstly, I've publicly told my wife and son's that I have stopped smoking. This is the first time I've done that.

Secondly, I also called all but one of my eight siblings to give them the same message. I wasn't looking for their support or anything, just wanted them to know. Received nothing but best wishes and love from everyone.

and finally, I visited two very dear friends to talk about my journey. She smokes 40-a-day and he smokes 30+-a-day. I was only there for about 30 minutes and watched how they lit up over 6 cigarettes between them. I decided I didn't want to be around them anymore so I left.

Making sure I have some chewing gum or mints close by whenever I feel the urge. Also drinking lots of water. Seems to help

Stay strong.

I think it takes a lot to tell someone you're quitting...it puts it out there and makes it feel more real...good on you for your descion and I'm glad you received some love and support x
