Does anyone know how long the nicotine replacement orders take? Ordered patches over a week ago and nothing has come. Bought cigarettes today but don’t want to be smoking them. They taste disgusting. Oh and do I have to go back to day one now?
Hi. I'm Tracey and I have been smoking on and off since I was 10 years old, when you could nick a packet out of a carton from my mums stash and she woudn't notice. I'm ow 45 years old.
I did some research on what I could take to keep me calm, as I know from previous attempts I am a total bitch and my husband can't do anything right.
I'm usually pretty ok at not getting any cravings in the mornings but the afternoons and nights I find the hardest, so I started my patches at 3.30pm, and I also took a St Johns wort tablet at the same time. I got one craving the first night but most importantly my husband was safe from my mouth or moods.
The next morning I took another St Johns Wort tablet along with Q10, valerian root, spirulina and ginseng at night. These supplements are for reducing cravings, removing antioxidants, providing energy and promoting healthy organs.
I am now on day four and have only had about 2 cravings per day and if i'm feeling crumpy I worn my husband and seem to be able to keep it under control. I believe these supplements are helping me remain calm and I am having way less cravings than I normally would.
I have also kept myself busy, we milk cows anyway but in between milking can be when the boredom steps in, so I have been doing lots of gardening and preserving. This helps occupy my time. I have brought some puzzles also so if I have very little to do( doesn't happen to often) or I am lacking in energy I can sit down and still keep my hands busy.
I'm also not going to town by myself, as I know the temptation to buy another packet of smokes is too great at the moment.
Yesterday was a good test, I had a young man here, who went out and had a smoke, I smelt it and was fine.
Well my household and myself are shocked. This is the longest ive been without a smoke. And its been alot of hard work.
It has been tempting to light up, specially when im tired or stressing out. But ive not picked up a ciggy. Ive become quite self aware especially when I feel a bout of grumpiness coming on. Taking a few deep breaths until I feel calm helps.
HEALTHWISE I feel great. No coughing. No wheezing. Keeping up my walking helps with stress. Drinking water helps as well.
Keep focused ,,,its not easy but it does get better.
