Well this year I am going to try and quit smoking. I know it will be a hard but I really want to use the money I save to buy a new car and travel to the South island at the end of the year. I need all the help I can get.

Along with finances think about the health aspect to smoking...I don't know about you but I was always scared of the damage I was doing to my body by smoking cigarette after cigarette...consider ALL the options when it comes to smoking and let these reasons be behind your quit...you can do it each day step by step...use the 4Ds and follow NOPE...Not One Puff EVER!

Welcome to the blogs and the start of your quit journey.
You have been smoking for 20 years so it has become such a big part of your life. You are going to need to work at creating new routines around not smoking so that will become your new normal.
This does not have to be a bunch of big changes all at once, just picking a few small routine changes (like the order you do things in the morning or what you do after a meal etc) can help.
If you know there are particular times you are especially inclined to smoke look at what you can do as an alternative.
You can always reach out if you need help. People around you, the people on the blogs, Quitline, local smoking cessation organisations.. we are here to support you with being smokefree.

Me too, I have tried many times to give it up and have definitely decided this time this is it. After smoking a packet of 20 a day at $27 (old price) I did the sums & it’s shocking all my money is basically going up in smoke.
    I know I can’t do it on my own tho. Here’s to a richer 2020 😊
