If you use the Medtech or myPractice Practice Management System (PMS) you can refer patients directly to Quitline from your PMS.

Medtech PMS
If you use the Medtech PMS you can refer patients directly to Quitline using the ‘ManageMyHealth’ menu. This is a quick and easy way to refer as online referral forms autopopulate from patient records and patient READ codes are automatically updated. The referral form takes seconds to complete and is available to all practices using Medtech32 version 19.14 or later, regardless of whether you subscribe to ManageMyHealth or not. You will receive feedback into your ManageMyHealth inbox.

    Other ways of referring
    If you do not use Medtech, you can refer by filling in a simple form and forwarding it to Quitline to follow up with your patient. Once the form is complete, email to: referrals@quit.org.nz  or fax to 04 460 9879.

  • Quitline Referral Form 

    What happens when Quitline receives my referral?
    Your referral will be acknowledged and processed by our Quitline Advisors, who will contact the client within three working days from receiving your referral. We make three separate attempts to contact clients. If we are still unable to contact them, we send a letter encouraging them to get in touch, accompanied by quit smoking information (provided you have supplied the person’s address with your referral).
