Hi I have just started as from today to quit smoking just want to know how everyone went on there journey and any advise and ideas would be great

    Hi anonymous honestly take it hour by hour and then a day at a time the thing that has helped me was staying positive and believing that you can do it I'm 8days smokefree and determined to never look back you can do it we are all here to support you

    Hi Anon .. well done on making the decision. Set you date and go for it. Things we found helpful were the 4 D's (distraction, drink water, delay and deep breaths). These will get you through each craving. Knowing that the cravings only last about 7 minutes was helpful for me too. Getting through 7 minutes is easier than getting through a whole day :) Change your routine .. if you had a smoking spot for coffee .. move somewhere else for coffee. Get up and shower first thing to avoid the early morning issue. You can do it. I never believed I could in the early days but I'm now more than 6 years smoke free.
