I have been waiting for this appointment at the dental school for about 2 years now and the day is finally here! I get to start the treatment I need on the curly roots of my teeth (it will be a few appointments). Smoking almost cost me my teeth. I am slowly recovering from my gum disease that was caused mostly by smoking. The Hygenist said my gum measurements are almost back to "normal" now. I will have been quit for 600 days tomorrow so it has taken that long to heal. I am luckier than some people though so I will take it. Not looking forward to 4 hours in the torture chair tho! ...and I have another session next tuesday and may need more. I can say though that my teeth are far whiter now and I didn't do anything special - just quit smoking! <br /><br />Wish me luck peeps, I'm freaking out a bit because I have had this stuff done before so I know what I'm in for. I would have been craving a smoke about now usually and freaking out about how I was going to smell to the poor dentist. Not a problem now! I am so happy to be quit. The benefits just keep on coming and I'm living proof that this can be done.
